I was born in Madhubani, India and from when I was young I was interested to paint.  My parents were educated and sent me to school till 12th grade before I was married in Nepal. I thought I would study further but my Nepal family did not let me as I am the eldest daughter-in-law and therefore have a lot of responsibilities. My husband works at a bus counter and we share the expenses of educating our two girls.  Now I just want to educate my daughters well.  After my studies I took a painting class for six months. I did a lot of painting work at home and then I joined the Center.  At the JWDC I learn a lot from older women artists who don’t have any education at all.
