A motorcyclist performing stunt
When Madhumala visited a fun fair she saw a popular form of entertainment: a daredevil motorcyclist racing at high speed around the wall of a cylindrical structure. Such a structure is called the “Well of Death.” The audience looks down from above as the motorcyclist circles up the vertical wall, held in place by centrifugal force. In depicting the motorcycle driver circling the structure (which she remembers being supported by cables) Madhumala includes auspicious symbols, the peacock and the fish.
